typically you, sunghoon, and all of his friends would sit in the garage taking turns on the xbox, laughing and just hanging out. “come on come on come on!” sunghoon exclaimed, frustrated at trying to beat the boss in whatever game the group was playing this time.

“you have to go for his weak spot” jake explained while the respawn screen was displayed. “okay you try then” sunghoon handed the controller to jake.

you observe from your bean-bag in the corner of the room as jake tries and tries to beat the boss, ending up with the same result as sunghoon. “they’re never going to beat it at this rate” jungwon whispers in your ear giggling.

jungwons laughs caught sunghoons attention a he turns around to see you and him cuddled up with eachother, with you laying you head in jungwons lap. he doesn’t comprehend it at first, then did a double take.

“what are you two doing?” he questions, sitting up from the couch. you immediately pull your head off of jungwon. “sunghoon, what do you want?” you ask, rolling your eyes.

“i want to know why you two were cuddling like that” sunghoon crosses his arms over his chest looking at you both. jungwons face turns bright pink, trying to find the words to say. you don’t even need to speak though because jungwon knows that he can’t lie and he will definitely be killed if sunghoon finds out. “just tell him, wonnie” you say, giving jungwons shoulder an encouraging squeeze.

he takes in a breath and looks at you. “the thing is, we uh” jungwon pauses, not wanting to get into detail with every one in the room now watching him closely. “we kind of” jungwon takes another deep breath in and lets it out. “we kind of have feelings for each other” he says with conviction in his voice.

a shocked silence falls across the room except for the noise of the pause screen of the game. “how long has this been happening?” sunghoon asks quietly. everyone’s eyes turn to jungwon, who looks down shamefully. “ever since my birthday party” he mutters, rubbing the back of his neck uncomfortably.

“so… what? you guys are dating” sunghoon asks awkwardly, glancing around the room. “it hasn’t really been official but yes” jungwon confirms, shifting in his seat to face sunghoon better. “but we haven’t told anyone about this yet” he continues nervously. “are you okay with it?” jungwons adds, biting his lip anxiously.

“i don’t know how to feel man, i wish you could have trusted me enough to come to me about it when it first happened” sunghoon confesses after a while. there was nothing more you could have done. jungwon and him have had told each other everything, even since highschool. “but i am happy for you” sunghoon smiles.

jungwon lets out a sigh of relief while you are to the side of him speechless. sunghoon comes around the couch and takes both of you into a hug, tears almost forming in jungwons eyes from being so scared of disapproval. “this is going to be weird to get used to” sunghoon laughs.

"ace in the hole" is old slang used to mean a hidden advantage. Ace being used to mean asexual is only within the past 15-20 years.

I think with that particular line, Viv meant it in the old slang, forgot the younger gen asexuals call themselves ace, and pretended that's what she meant all along. (I'm 99% sure Viv never pays attention to the TQIA+ side, so that's why she ignores and excludes us)

Rosie calling Al her hidden advantage makes far more sense, especially with these new leaks.

Anyway, I don't think Viv should have bothered making an aroace character. She is obviously very into shipping culture and is definitely stepping away from any aromantic Alastor ideas. We'll probably have to say goodbye to his asexuality as well. Hazbin and HB are very LGB only kind of shows.

that last part is genuinely how I feel about the whole canon hellaverse tho, but even that’s debatable when you look at how stereotyped the gay and pan characters specifically are (the gay characters are all dramatic and horny/sex obsessed, and the pan characters are all also horny to an even more extreme degree (except Bee for some reason, I need to rescue her and Tex from this freaking show istg 😭)). I think Viv wants to be an ally of some kind but is just failing miserably

the hateboners that the antis have for hazbin and everything related to viv is INSANE. can't scroll through any kind of social media (especially on twitter!) without accidentally stumbling upon the dumbest, most braindead takes. can't make silly little posts about hh or hb without antis flooding in. it's like their entire personality is to hate on viv and her works for some fucking reason

So many fucking QRTs of people either saying how bad or unfunny, commenting about Verbalase, and [insert stupid ass drama here]

And it's not even like I could block them. The moment I blocked 5 accounts there would be, no exaggeration, hundreds of others popping out of nowhere. It got to a point where it was bad for my mental health. If it weren't for HB and HH posting on Twitter, I would have no problem deactivating my account. It's so bad.

Don't even get me started on TikTok, even some of the fans there can be a bit much 😮‍💨

While Tumblr has hateful shit, it's not nearly as bogged down as Twitter is. Plus, I find so much more love here than I ever have on Twitter. (Not to say no one was nice to me. It just was a lot of hate that it was hard to separate the good from the bad.)

I'm not saying that they can't dislike Vivzie or anyone. It's just mind-boggling how antis/crits will literally HARASS ppl for watching a cartoon, even if that person also has misgivings for Viv. Which some fans do and that's perfectly fine. It's almost like separating art from the artist isn't hard.

(1) delicious romance (2021)

probably one of my favorite female-centric female friendship dramas in recent years i love all the ladies so much!!

it was extremely easy to binge and in my opinion, very heartwarming, relatable, and funny

a huge plus is how it handles a lot issues that a lot of women face in a very mature yet still lighthearted way

there is also a movie sequel (although i haven't watched it yet so cannot speak to its quality)

(2) remembramce of things past (2021) - tw for suicide

first things first -- if zhou yutong has a million fans, then i am one of them. if zhou yutong has ten fans, then i am one of them. if zhou yutong has only one fan, then that is me. if zhou yutong has no fans, then that means i am no longer on this earth. if the world is against zhou yutong, then i am against the world.

an urban slice of life drama centering around the lives of a group women in beijing and from the first episode you already know just how heart-wrenching this drama will be

definitely very heavy at times but all the characters are so compelling despite their seemingly very ordinary lives and these women feel so real because of all their flaws and struggles

also i am in love with zhou yutong i will literally watch almost anything just for her

(3) faithful (2023) - tw for sexual assault

heed the trigger warning -- the story is very heavy due to its subject matter

this drama is not about female friendships technically but the relationship between the two female leads is so central and important to the story and honestly the driving force behind the plot so it counts

the drama isn't perfect but i think that it is a very meaningful exploration of the injustice victims face when they speak out on sexual assault and just how difficult it is for victims to obtain justice in a world that cares more about protecting rapists than believing victims

it portrays the many ways in which victims are punished for daring speak up and fight for themselves and how the justice system and society are culpable in further traumatizing the victims

like this drama was so difficult to watch at times and can be quite triggering so please take care of yourself if you end up watching!!

(4) the story of minglan (2018)

I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT MINGLAN TO THIS DAY AND GET THE URGE TO REWATCH ALL 63 EPISODES LIKE EVERY YEAR EVEN THOUGH I DON'T HAVE THE TIME FOR IT

okay again not a female-friendship drama but it is female-centric

such a great slice-of-life drama about the inner lives of women with really rich, detailed storytelling and so many complex women AND UGH I LOVE IT SO MUCH

like the story treats their female characters with so much care and love and the writing allows you to understand all their motivations, and show you how these women, even if they are cruel, scheming, and manipulative, are not passive victims of their circumstances but are doing what they can to exert agency and control in their lives in order to protect themselves and their loved ones

also i lovelovelovelove the main couple so much they're up there as one of my favorite cdrama couples of all time

one day i will manage a full rewatch so that i can re-gif all of my favorite scenes in better quality :)

(5) ode to joy (2016) and ode to joy 2 (2017)

about five women who enter each other's lives because they all live on the same floor of an apartment building in shanghai -- they don't all start out as friends but over time do overcome their differences and become close friends

similar to remembrance of things past in the how it explores issues of career, family, and love but just as good and compelling

some of the ladies are difficult to love at first but by the end i was rooting for them all and enjoyed watching them all grow

(6) twenty your life on (2020)

drama centers around the lives of a group of college-aged girls and explores their struggles as they enter adulthood

it's not a groundbreaking drama but still quite a fun, light-hearted watch that i enjoyed a lot

i loved the girls' friendships so much and was rooting for them all by the end

there is a season 2 but again, i have not watched so cannot speak on its quality

I’m not sure actually. Reports only said the sub-unit will come back in the summer while the group later on. I’m sure they already have decided the line-up but it’s not confirmed yet. But honestly same, I probably won’t live this down if it doesn’t happen.
